After successfully representing hometown side of Las Palmas, Aythami was bought in 2007 by Deportivo La Coruna. And, in January 2008, was loaned to Xerez CD in the second division. The loan was renewed for the entire 2008–2009, and Aythami was an instrumental defensive element for the Andalusians, which achieved a first-ever La Liga promotion.
